Berlin, September 2021Spielworks, a leading blockchain startup specializing in gaming and decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions, announces the integration of the Wombat wallet with Ethereum. The wallet will enable gamers using Spielworks’s Wombat wallet and Womplay gaming platform to buy and sell Ethereum-based assets, including NFTs, on Ethereum-based marketplaces, as well as sign transactions in and interact with Ethereum-based dApps.

Over the last two years, as part of its campaign to connect the gaming and DeFi worlds, Wombat, the largest wallet on the EOS network with over 900,000 users, has integrated its app with several notable DeFi applications and games via partnerships with eosfinex, Defibox, Prospectors, Upland, and Splinterlands. Now, with Ethereum, Spielworks is gearing up to enable Wombat wallet users to access the world’s leading blockchain network, including all Ethereum-based assets via the ERC-20 and ERC-721 token standards.

With the integration, Wombat is offering wallet users access the entire Ethereum ecosystem, including trademark games such as CryptoKitties and Sorare; DeFi hubs, such as Compound or Uniswap; and NFT marketplaces, such as OpenSea or Rarible. Although the wallet integration will initially not support Binance Smart Chain or Polygon, accessibility on those networks is in development.

Spielworks’s Wombat integration with Ethereum is part of a broader plan to create a multi-chain NFT ecosystem, where gamers can access any NFT marketplace on the major blockchain network—starting with EOS and Ethereum.

“As part of our mission to expand our users’ access to the world of NFTs and blockchain gaming, we are proud to be able to integrate Wombat with Ethereum and create the industry’s number one blockchain wallet for gamers,” says Adrian Krion, CEO of Spielworks. “The integration opens Wombat up for a wider audience and larger-scale applications, and it will allow us to provide our users with Ethereum-based NFTs through our NFTs-in-gaming efforts.”

The Ethereum-enabled Wombat wallet is available on both Android and iOS apps, as well as the Chrome browser extension available for desktop.
